At Äleklinta, "alvaret" reaches all the way to the slope where the land then throws itself straight down into the sea.

In the clear weather, you can see the contours of the legendary island "Blå Jungfrun" in the northwest. In the southwest, Borgholm's castle rises over the bay. In the evening you can enjoy a beautiful sunset over Kalmarsund. In Äleklinta, the coastal road that extends all the way to Byrum begins, a distance of just 30 kilometers. A narrow gravelled road winds its way north, there the view is magnificent over Kalmarsund in the west and the pasture meadows in the east.

The road runs along the island's stone coast and is found on maps from the 17th century, but is probably much older.

During a clear night you can clearly see all the little stars of heaven in Äleklinta! If you are lucky, you can see the sea eagle sailing by and during the fishing season there are many who fish seatrout along the coast. Öland has it all if you love nature; barren lands, forests, rich bird life, orchids growing wild and always close to water.
